To add extra days to your Brigade, you will need to fundraise the corresponding donation amounts. Global Brigades will help you arrange all of the details.

Panama Canal: Miraflores Locks and Casco Viejo

The Miraflores Locks Visitor Center is a great place to experience the Panama Canal. You'll be able to find different activities to learn about and enjoy the Canal.

Additionally, you can explore Casco Viejo, Panama City's historic district, and discover Panama's history in this cultural world heritage site.

Panama Canal and Monkey Island Tour

The Monkey Island tour provides a unique way to experience the Panama Canal.

Take a boat through the Chagres River, all the way to Monkey Island. Observe the white-face monkeys, howler monkeys, Geoffrey's tamarinds, and the other various species found there.

Public Health Day

May include one or multiple of the following activities:

Wastewater treatment system designs
Quality analysis of treated water discharge
Hygiene station construction
Implementation of hygiene promotion plans
Design of public health plans (Malaria, cholera, dengue, solid waste management)
Sensitization of the risks of open defecation

Water system design
Water quality analysis

Recognition of women's water needs

Standard Research Project

Participate in a research project to evaluate the long-term impact of our year-round primary health care initiatives by helping conduct community member surveys and interviewing CHEs.

Clinic Day (Medical Consultation)

Spend a day conducting medical consultations alongside 2 medical doctors, a pharmacist, and complementary staff.

The complementary staff includes a coordinator, 1 translator for every 10 students, and any other specialist assigned to the initial Brigade structure according to their Brigade tier.

Clinic Day (Dental Consultation)

Spend a day conducting dental consultations (e.g. extractions, fillings, and cleanings) alongside 2 dentists, a pharmacist, and complementary staff.
