Celebrate GB Week 2026!

GB Week is an international celebration of Global Brigades’ collaborative impact. Each day focuses on a different pillar of Global Brigades' holistic model. We encourage chapters to learn about, discuss, and raise awareness around each topic within your campus community.

We encourage each chapter to post on social media at least once during GB Week using the daily themes. Find some easy ways to participate below:

Monday, February 16 | Health & Well-Being

Focus: Healthcare that reaches the people who need it most

Talk about why ethical, community-led healthcare matters

Ways to get engaged:

• Post about a charla you led or participated in.
• Quote a volunteer or in-country staff member about ethical healthcare.
• Lead a discussion about healthcare access disparities

Tuesday, February 17 | Water is Life

Focus: Clean water is foundational to health, opportunity, and dignity.

Talk about community-led maintenance and long-term sustainability.

Ways to get engaged:

• Share a testimony from a community member about water access

• Share the "1 volunteer = 6.2 people gain water access" statistic

• Partner with your university's environmental groups to discuss water equity.

Wednesday, February 18 | Healthy Homes 

Focus: Health begins where people live.

Talk about how home improvements prevent disease and improve quality of life.

Ways to get engaged:

• Post photos of eco-stove installations or hygiene stations.

• Host an info session about Public Health Brigades
• Discuss social determinants of health with pre-health student groups.

Thursday, February 19 |  Vision for All

Focus: Clear vision means clearer access to education, employment, safety, and daily life.

Talk about our new Optometry Brigades launching 2026!

Ways to get engaged:

• Share the announcement about Optometry Brigades launching in 2026

• Share why vision care matters in global health
• Partner with your university's optometry program (if available).

Friday, February 20 | The Holistic Model

Focus:  Sustainable change happens when programs work together.

Talk about why community-led impact is important.

Ways to get engaged:

• Share your GB Week Dinner photos (with contest hashtags!)

• Post about why holistic approaches create sustainable change.
• Showcase how different GB programs connect

Chapter Event: Host a GB Week Dinner with Your Brigade Group\

Gather your chapter members for a meal together to celebrate your collective impact and strengthen your community. This is a time to reflect on your Brigade experiences, share stories, and build excitement for future trips.

Dinner Contest Details:

• Post a group photo from your dinner on Instagram

• Tag @globalbrigades (Medical Brigades also tag @medicalbrigades)

• WIN a $1,000 Brigade scholarship for the most creative post*

*Winner selected based on photo/reel creativity and caption explaining why Global Brigades has a unique approach to sustainable development.

Saturday, February 21 | Gratitude & Vision

Focus:  After a week of appreciation, let's look toward the future together.

Talk about the collective impact of volunteers, staff, and community partners

Ways to get engaged:

• Create thank-you messages for community partners, staff, and fellow volunteers.

• Share what you're excited about for Global Brigades' future
• Reflect on lessons learned and growth experienced.

Content Tips:

• Use high-quality photos from your Brigade experiences
• Write authentic, personal captions that tell stories
